Code of Conduct
The Round is a half-day gathering that brings people together across differences because we believe genuine connection is how we build a more inclusive, empathic world.
This Code applies to everyone taking part. We ask everyone - event committee, activators and guests - to read this Code and agree to uphold it not only on the day but also in the planning stage. It matters most for the people who’ve trusted us to make this space safe for them.
The values that shape this space
Collaboration: We learn better together than alone. Come ready to build with others, share generously, and take turns holding the space.
Decolonisation: We centre First Nations voices, knowledge and leadership, and work intentionally to notice and unlearn the systems that have historically excluded people. On Kaurna Country, that starts with listening more than we speak.
Inclusivity: Diversity is an asset. Every story, culture, experience, body, and way of seeing the world has a place here.
Stewardship: We look after this space, this community and each other, and we tread gently on the land and planet we share, so The Round leaves things better than we found them.
Room for the issues we care about
Many of us carry a real commitment to a fairer world, and the frustration that comes with wanting change to happen faster. There's room for that here, but held with kindness, curiosity and care, so it strengthens the conversation rather than putting anyone's safety or sense of belonging at risk. Listen as much as you speak, and treat disagreement as something to sit with, not something to win. You can hold strong convictions and still leave room for someone else's different, equally valid experience.
This means difficult conversations are part of this work too, and we don't shy away from them. You're free to step back from any that aren't right for you, but if you stay, we ask for good intent, kindness, and a willingness to consider perspectives and experiences that may differ from your own.
What we ask of each other
Listen as generously as you speak, making room for voices less often heard.
Treat every background, culture and experience with curiosity, not with judgement.
Ask, don’t assume - about pronouns, access needs, cultural protocols or photos.
Look out for each other and bring your passion with care, not aggression.
What this space isn’t for
A platform for personal promotion, sales pitches or recruiting clients. The Round is about connection, not commercial gain.
Discrimination, harassment or bullying, on any basis - including race, culture, disability, gender, sexuality, age, lived experience or religion.
Speaking over, dismissing or diminishing someone else’s lived experience.
Behaviour that makes others feel unsafe, in person, in writing, or online in connection with the event.
If something doesn’t feel right
Please don’t sit with it alone. On the day, speak with our welfare contact (details shared in pre-event comms and on site); before or after, contact Collab4Good at hello@collab4good.com.au. We respond with compassion and in proportion, usually a quiet word or private conversation first. Where behaviour is serious, repeated, or unsafe, we may ask someone to step away, to protect the space for everyone else.
