SOCIAL ENTERPRISE AWARE
Equipping values-aligned professionals to understand and enable the unique social enterprise model
Social Enterprise Aware is a 2-day micro-credential training program for values aligned professionals who work with (or wish to work with) social enterprises. It’s designed to help deepen your understanding of this emerging business model and its unique needs, so you can maximise your impact and theirs.
Participants will walk away with:
A deeper understanding of social enterprise key concepts, models and frameworks.
Shared language for speaking with and about social enterprise.
Understanding the unique governance, strategic, financial and operational needs of social enterprise business models.
Best practice strategies in engaging, supporting and enabling social enterprises and the people or places they exist to serve.
A micro-credential certificate and a 'Social Enterprise Aware Provider' digital badge to add to your professional platforms (website, email signature, proposals).
WHO IS IT FOR?
If you provide services to, or play a supporting role for, a social enterprise then Social Enterprise Aware is for you - you might be a values-aligned accountant, a bookkeeper, a lawyer, a marketing or human resources consultant, a business coach, a grant maker, an educator or perhaps you are joining a board of directors or an advisory board of a social enterprise.
Values-alignment is a top priority and registrants will be screened - too many social enterprises have been negatively impacted by extractive providers and we have a responsibility to ensure that those we endorse as a 'Social Enterprise Aware Provider' are genuinely wanting to enable the social and environmental outcomes that social enterprises strive for. You can see our core values and ways of working on Our Story page.
This first program is for those based in South Australia (SA) - if you are based outside of SA and would like to undertake Social Enterprise Aware in the future please complete this form to register your interest.
WHY IS THIS NEEDED?
Collab4Good is offering this program based on feedback from the hundreds of social enterprises that we have worked with, who share their frustrations about working with providers, professionals and board members who don't quite understand the unique models and needs of social enterprise.
Social enterprises operate with the brain of a business and the heart of a charity - and so they rarely fit neatly into the usual boxes we might apply for governance, strategy and operations.
Those who complete this program will receive a digital ‘Social Enterprise Aware Provider’ badge to demonstrate to the social enterprises they engage with (or wish to engage with) that they have taken steps to deepen their understanding of social enterprise and are confident in their ability to support the unique governance, strategic and operational needs of the social enterprise model.
