The Round
An accessible community gathering on Kaurna Country where people come together for a half-day of storytelling, cultural exchange and genuine connection.
A chance to connect with people from diverse backgrounds who share a desire for a more inclusive, connected and empathic world. With a program of interactive activations designed and led by the community, this event fosters collaboration, connection, inclusive practice and celebrating stories across cultures.
Come to share, come to learn, or come to simply feel less alone. There's a place for you in the circle.
Thursday 24 September 2026 | 10AM - 3PM | Flinders University City Campus (Festival Tower, Station Rd, Adelaide - Tarntanya)
Why "The Round"?
In music and theatre, to perform in the round means the audience surrounds the stage. No seat is better than another, everyone has equal view and equal voice. This mirrors the spirit of the yarning circle: a gathering where no one sits above anyone else, where every story is worth hearing.
In everyday Australian life, your round means it's your turn to give - a spirit of generosity, reciprocity and taking care of each other.
That's the spirit we're building this day around.
What to expect on the day
The day is built around activations, moments in the program where something comes alive, led by people from our community. Think storytelling circles, creative workshops, cultural experiences, movement practice, conversation circles, and more. You won't just be watching from your seat. You'll be in it.
We're now working through co-design with our activators, and the full program lands the week of 17 August 2026, with a few sneak peeks before then. Sign up below and we'll make sure you're first to know.
Every activation at The Round is designed to get people connecting, making, sharing or doing together.
The Round is a volunteer initiative powered by Collab4Good, in partnership with the South Australian Social Enterprise Council, delivered in collaboration with community.
The Round is supported by Flinders NVI, MTL Consulting Services, One Culture, Inclusive Business Solutions, and the City of Adelaide.
Want to help make it happen?
The Round runs on people who show up early, stay late, and help make sure every guest feels welcome. If you'd like to volunteer on the day (greeting guests, supporting activators, helping things run smoothly) we'd love to have you. Email us at hello@collab4good.com.au
