We strongly encourage EOIs from people with lived experience of all kinds, and particularly welcome submissions from First Nations communities, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, people with disabilities, and those who are often talked about rather than with.

What's an activation?

An activation is a session at The Round - a moment in the program where something comes alive.

It might be a storytelling circle, a creative workshop, a cultural experience, a movement practice, a group conversation or something else entirely. What makes it an activation rather than a talk or a presentation is that you're not just watching or listening. You're in it.

Every activation at The Round is designed to get people connecting, making, sharing or doing together.

What's an activator?

An activator is someone who leads a session at The Round, but not in the way you might expect. There are no panels, no lectures, no one standing at the front of a room talking at people. Activators bring an activity, a practice or an experience that gets people genuinely involved.

You might run a creative workshop, lead a conversation circle, share a cultural practice, facilitate a game, or try something you've been wanting to test out. If you have something beautiful to share (a way of connecting, a skill, a story, an idea) this is your space.
