C4G Impact Report 2020 IMG.png

Dear Community,

Looking back on 2020 and what we have achieved as a community, particularly during a global pandemic, is nothing short of incredible.

Collab4Good provides a platform to enable collaborations for good, and this year our community has come together to deliver swift action in response to multiple crises including bushfires and the pandemic. These actions have included:

  • Heal & Hustle Climate Revolution - Bringing together 50 community members for an extraordinary day of healing, recovery and action planning as we grappled with the bushfire crisis and broader climate emergency. 15 volunteer activators contributed their knowledge and skills to run workshops for community including healing through loss and grief with Rosemary Wanganeen, learning how tiny personal habits can create change for climate health, how we can fight fake news, using participatory social media for change, hearing the voices of Gen Z and learning how we can adapt our business policies for the planet.

  • Collab4Good Resilience Fund - The Collab4Good Resilience Fund was created for South Australian founders who are female, women of transgender experience and of our non binary community who do not equally benefit from patriarchal business support opportunities, and who have been hit hard by the recent bushfire and/or COVID-19 crises. 38 community members who are committed to actively working towards gender equity in business contributed funds to enable $5,750 to be gifted to 6 Founders across South Australia. The Resilience Fund was a collaboration between Collab4Good, Chooks SA, Women In Business Regional Network and Hen House Coop, overseen by a dedicated committee who volunteered their time to build the process, assess applications and distribute funds to recipients.

  • The Heal & Hustle Council was formed by community in response to the need for the voices of all South Australians to be heard, particularly during the COVID-19 crisis. The Council is made up of 7 dedicated council members who are all business leaders in their own right, and who have committed to working together to deliver one key action for change each quarter. The first action of the Heal & Hustle Council was to capture the stories and experiences of 100 everyday South Australians during COVID-19 to inform recovery and policy. The incredible South Australia100 stories of resilience, strength and determination can be viewed here.

  • The SA Social Enterprise Strategy Coalition was formed to bring together key stakeholders from across the SA social enterprise ecosystem to forge the development of a state-wide strategy to recognise and support the efforts of South Australian social enterprises. The Coalition is working together and with State Government to drive planning and policy in SA for social enterprise to enable positive social impact and job creation as part of COVID-19 recovery.

  • Our popular online monthly Lunch & Learns have brought together over 70 business leaders and entrepreneurs to hear, learn and be inspired by our 48 panellists who have shared their experiences on various topics including investment readiness, celebrating the self, working with local government, circular economy practice and adventurous women. Our panellists include local, national and international guests who share innovative thinking and practice to help inform our activity here in SA.

  • Collab4Good also drove a join submission on social procurement to the SA Productivity Commission on Procurement in collaboration with key stakeholders across the SA ecosystem.

  • Collab4Good was successful in lobbying for funds to support up to 10 SA social entrepreneurs to attend the virtual 2020 Social Enterprise World Forum.

All of this was achieved with no funding in 2020, and amidst a global pandemic, through the sweat, strength and generosity of the community that has gone above and beyond, backing these initiatives with their own funds, time and energy. Imagine what we can all achieve in 2021 with funding, recognition and support from big businesses and government to further this extraordinary and essential impact - we can’t wait to work with you all again to enable positive change in SA next year!

Your Collab4Good Co-Founders,

Amy, Moira and Sarah
